Zombieland: Bonesnap Boulevard

Zombieland is not a survival game. You’re not going to survive, so you may as well take as many of those damned zombies with you before you go down. How many levels can you pass in this endless side scrolling shoot ‘em up?

Programming and design by myself, Panayoti Haritatos. Graphics by Tim Wendorf. Music by Padraig Devers and sound effects by Matt Sayre.

We showed Zombieland to the guys over at fukgames.com when they asked us if we had any games they could sponsor. Naturally they loved the concept, so we kicked development into overdrive so we could deliver this game to them as soon as possible.

Zombieland was a lot of fun to make. Tim and I had a blast coming up with all the different gameplay ideas and enemies (Tim came up with all the best ones. A wheelchair zombie, Tim? That’s Albert Einstein levels of genius). I came up with the original concept while playing Gun n Run. I was intrigued by the idea of an endless game, and it seemed to me that the best theme for a game of that type would, naturally, involve zombies. Plus, I had been dying (hehe) to do a zombie game for some time so it seemed like the perfect choice. Zombieland is one of those games which every minute you spend on it just makes it even better. I really hope we get an opportunity to put together a sequel to this game as there are still so many fun things we want to do.

I’ve never managed to survive past level 15. Smile
